Run and support – another stage behind us
On the last but one Sunday of September the PRESS GLASS team participated in two runs organised in Tychy (Poland) – 20th Tychy International Street Run and 4th Tychy Half-Marathon. Altogether 23 employees of the company declared their readiness to participate in the runs. Within the action “Run and support” we paid a certain amount for each participant for a selected charity purpose.
The runs in Tychy that were held on the same day (20 September) over 650 persons participated. The 23-strong PRESS GLASS runner team was among the largest organised groups.
Fifteen employees participated in the shorter distance (street run – 10 km) and the other eight persons decided to face a larger challenge (half-marathon – 21 km). Among our representatives the best positions were won by: in the street run – Tomasz Jamski (36th position); in the half-marathon – Dominik Bolingier (132nd position).
“The starts in the street run and the half-marathon were for our team the first runs in Tychy – a city where one of our branches is located. And most important – all of our 23 runners made it to the end”, says Gerard Plaze, a co-organiser of the action.
For each runner representing our company we paid a certain sum for a charity purpose in accordance with the assumptions underlying the action “Run and support”; additionally, we paid an extra amount for participation in the half-marathon. The representatives of PRESS GLASS decided that the total amount of PLN 2350 “run” by them will be used to support the treatment of Artur Szuster, a boy suffering from cystic fibrosis who is taken care of by the Foundation Assisting Families and People Suffering from Cystic Fibrosis “MATIO”.
We have been conducting the action “Run and support” combining a healthy life style with support to charity purposes since 2015. The first was the participation of the PRESS GLASS team in 7th Częstochowa Run – the annual start is the run is the central item of the action. Additionally, we participate in runs in cities and surroundings where facilities of our company are located. This year the PRESS GLASS team also participated in 3rd Radomsko Street Run.
The next start for this year is 25th Sambor Street Run planned on 7 November in Tczew (Poland).
