Viadux — residential tower in the center of Manchaster
Viadux is a unique residential tower in the heart of Manchester. Designed by studio SimpsonHaugh, combining modernity with the historic character of the city. Its impressive 13,851m² glazed façade uses processed glass from PRESS GLASS. The photo’s demonstrate the transition of the facade appearance across the different times of day.
SGG COOL-LITE SKN 183 and SGG ECLAZ were selected for optimal light transmission and neutrality combined with appropriate thermal insulation, whilst the IGU construction was designed for optimal acoustic performance and flatness, crucial for a high profile, city residence adjacent to rail and road. In addition, special processes such as lamination, tempering and Heat Soak Testing were used to ensure the highest safety standards and in-situ reliability.
The effect is complemented by the use of enamelled glass spanning the building structure, adjacent to clear vision glass, which binds the façade together into a coherent whole.
The project developer was british Salboy company.
