Information about the construction of a new special glass plant of PRESS GLASS SA in Tucznawa
On November 12, 2021 at the headquarters of the Katowice Special Economic Zone S.A. a tender was concluded, as a result of which, by the end of 2021, PRESS GLASS will become the owner of approximately 15 ha of an investment plot in the economic area „Tucznawa“ in Dąbrowa Górnicza (Poland).
We are pleased to announce that in this location the construction of another plant of our company is planned, in which the production of special panes will be carried out. Production is scheduled to start in 2024.
The new plant will consolidate two production facilities of highly processed construction glass from Radomsko and Tychy, which will allow for significant optimization of planning, production and logistics processes. Moreover, freeing up production space in Radomsko will allow us to increase production capacity and strengthen our position as Europe’s largest double glazing plant.
The level of production automation, which will be applied in the new plant, will allow us to significantly increase our effectiveness and meet the increasingly higher quality requirements of our customers.
Katowice SEZ covers the Voivodeship of Silesia and 6 districts of the Voivodeship of Opole. At present, there are more than 450 enterprises operating within it, which have invested approximately PLN 42 billion and created 80,000 jobs.
There are already six large investors in the „Tucznawa“ economic area. Among others Korean concern SK Innovation, Japanese factory NGK Ceramics. Schade Polska, Outokumpu Distribution Polska, Convert Paper and Instanta also have investment plots.
